Once again I am confronted with a project at the verge of being destroyed. I managed to break the original sculpture and the only body parts I could salvage were the head and the hand. I decided to use them in a new project. In the area I live there were periods when on my way out I was constantly stopped by people wanting something from me. They were always begging for money, either it was welfare organization or people just needing money for a cup of coffee. I guess I made an easy target. I decided to make a sculpture about this. Because of my limited options due to the accident, I ended up with this weird looking guy holding his hand out asking for money. The sculpture got made with attaching the remaining ceramic parts to a piece of plaster cowered with a great length of thread. I read in a book about an ism in art called mistakeism, I guess the work could apply under this category.
